"Teaching the Anxious Generation"
with Annie Barley Givler
Saturday, March 8th at 4:00-5:45pm
Tuition Price: $40
Student Price: $30
Rates of childhood anxiety are soaring, with figures from 10 to 20% of children between ages 4 and 17 demonstrating symptoms of clinically diagnosed anxiety disorders. As many as 60% of students in this age group report experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/ or depression with some frequency.
As Suzuki teachers, we are on the front lines of this wide spread mental health crisis amongst our students. Oftentimes, we teachers lack the background or professional development to know how to best react when our students are struggling with anxiety and depression. In this session geared towards Suzuki teachers in the trenches, Annie Barley Givler will lead Suzuki teachers to participate in a discussion of successful strategies we can implement in working with anxious children. There will be resources provided. Please join us!

Send Students to the Festival!
Send your students to the Festival! Teachers who send 7+ students can attend the whole weekend for free; which includes observing both days, and attending any teacher workshops. Students often experience a big motivational boost from the Festival. You can encourage them to attend and help them prepare the appropriate repertoire. You will be notified when 7 of your students have registered. Please fill out the Teacher Registration form to let us know which events you will be attending.
